  • to preserve normal bones
  • to maintain a normal muscle function
  • to preserve normal teeth

100% VEGETABLE VITAMIN D STRENGTHENS THE IMMUNE SYSTEM
Research results in recent years have now shown the link between vitamin D supply and the function of the immune system. The fat-soluble vitamin D is unique among vitamins, because it can be formed in humans by sunlight (UVB-rays!). During the winter months, from October to March, there are not enough hours of sunshine in the countries of Europe and therefor the body's vitamin D synthesis is almost at a complete standstill. Vitamin D deficiency is the result.

VITAMIN D SUPPORTS VITALITY AND GOOD DEFENSES Vitamin D contributes to the functional and health maintenance of normal bones, normal muscle function and the maintenance of normal teeth. It regulates calcium and phosphate metabolism and thereby promotes the mineralization and hardening of the bone and in addition is involved in many other metabolic processes in the body (such as muscle metabolism, defence against infection).

BIOBENE® VITAMIN D Vegan is a valuable nutritional supplement to compensate Vitamin D deficiency and to strengthen the immune system. For a long time vegetable Vitamin D was only available as Vitamin D2 (Ergocalciferol), which had to be converted before absorption. Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) was previously of animal origin and therefore not vegan. BIOBENE® VITAMIN D Vegan is now available with an improved formula and 100% vegetable vitamin D3V®.

100% VEGETABLE VITAMIN D3V®
BIOBENE® VITAMIN D Vegan contains purely vegetable vitamin D3, also known as D3V®, which is made from algae. D3V® is similar in chemical structure to vitamin D3 of animal origin and convinces by its particularly high quality, purity and bioavailability. This vegetable vitamin D3 can be optimally absorbed by the body directly – without prior conversion. Vitamin D3 from algae is more stable and more readily available than vitamin D3 from lichens.

Reference values for VITAMIN D
Vitamin D is given in µ (micrograms) or in international units (IU). 1 µ corresponds to 40 IU or 1 IU = 0.025 µ. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published in 2012 a new "Scientific Opinion" for the safe intake of vitamin D with maximum limits of 100 µ / day, which would be 4,000 IU for persons over 11 years, children under 11 years 50 µ / day 2,000 IU. US studies suggest a recommended intake of 1,500 to 2,000 IU for adults and seniors Vitamin D per day . The DGE (German Society for Nutrition e.V.) states as new D-A-CH reference value 20 µ vitamin D per day (that is 800 I.U.).1)
The trend is clearly towards higher vitamin D intake recommendations.

The special thing about BIOBENE® VITAMIN D Vegan is the purely vegetable origin of vitamin D3 - cholecalciferol - from algae. Capsule shell and contents contain no animal ingredients. Therefore BIOBENE® VITAMIN D Vegan is especially suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
